Post-holiday round-up

You know what’s fun?  Catching a virus that strikes on Christmas night, your first day off in a week-and-a-half break.  So, you spend the time between x-mas and New Year’s feeling a ratty, only to have the fever break but keep a recurring cough (the kind that makes is sound like you’ve been smoking for 30 years).  Just good, good fun.

Anyway, I haven’t been in the blogging mood lately.  But, my time on the couch over the holidays let me view A LOT of commercials.  these are the things that I’ve been screaming in my head lately.

  • Have the people that sell Snuggies sold enough of them to stop showing the f-ing ads?  What a horrible, horrible product in the Clapper “sounds like a good idea but gets dumber every time you see it” kind of way.  Well, it’s good to know that if I want to dress up like a Druid at a football game or around the house, they have the perfect product for me. Luckily, Youtube has a two-minute version of the ad that we all hate. Enjoy.
  • How did the FDA approve a product called Flomax that treats male wee-wee issues?  Seriously.  Flomax?  Was Crazystream or Weetorrent already taken?
  • Billy Mays really needs to stop shouting at me.
  • Saw an ad where Cleveland Browns wide receiver was pimping 5-Hour Energy.  Unfortunately, he looked half asleep during the taping.  Uh… there’s a disconnect there, right?
  • I have a love/hate relationship with the Lexus ads where you see a kid in the past talking about the best gift they have been given.  They then fast-forward to the present where the kid, now a grown-up, gets a Lexus, supplanting the childhood memory of “best gift ever.” However, the one where the girl has a pony in her living room… just creeps me out.

I’ll get back to blogging more coherently soon.  Just gotta shake off the rust.
