Meet "Very Loud Guy," i.e., memories of the 2007 UNC football season

This year, as I have since 2000, I had season tickets to UNC football. Why? Well, football tickets are just easier to get than basketball, and win or lose, spending a day in beautiful Kenan Stadium beats a day in the suburbs, hands down.

Mo' badder football announcing: The Martin and Walker amateur hour

Today, I’m watching the epic UNC-NC State game on the Raycom/Liberty Financial sports network, and like the UNC-Wake Forest game, this one is a doozy. And when I say “doozy” I mean an unmitigated disaster that’s an affront to about half of my senses.   You know… regional football coverage at its best.

Chubby Checker, the Fat Boys and Will Smith: That's my XM

I hate to keep harping on this, but the selection on XM’s channel 21 is just utterly jaw-dropping. Sure, they’re still playing all the great music from Pink, Boys Like Girls and DJ Okayshun featuring Lil’ Stinkbug with T-Pum’kin and Mo’ Snapple (OK, I made up that last collection of names, but wouldn’t they all be good hip-hop names).
