One of the biggest benefits of XM Radio – besides constantly hearing NWA tunes in some bizarre circumstances – is that, for the first time in about 10 years, I feel like I’m in touch with popular music. Not completely up to speed mind you, but at least a little better off than most 34-year-old suburban dads.

Last week, I blogged about hitting the four-year mark at my current gig. I got some good feedback about it, but I think the best part was when I ran the numbers to see exactly what I’ve created. That’s a long time to be in roughly the same role, albeit with added responsibilities here and there. So, here’s what I found. How I (or any of us) don’t have carpal tunnel, I have no clue.
For the first time in my professional career, I just rolled past the four-year mark at a single job. It’s strange to think that, until now, I haven’t held a job even as long as Jimmy Carter and George H. W. Bush were president. On the flip side, my term at this current company hasn’t been an unmitigated disaster, so… I got that going for me. Which is nice. Read more…
