A few weeks back, I was on a business trip, and I woke up in the hotel at around 7 a.m. Our first meeting wasn’t until 10 a.m, so I’d normally use that time to catch up on email and other work inanities. On that morning, though, I couldn’t get the wireless web connection to work. I tried everything I knew, but nada… I was off the grid.

I’ve typically stayed clear of political topics, but I had to share this. After George W. Bush’s speech tonight outlining the need for more troops in Iraq, I did a quick survey of some of the more prominant political blogs – on both ends of the spectrum (which begs the question… are there any centrist blogs out there? When Fox outbid the other networks for the college BCS games, I’m sure Rupert Murdoch’s gang was ecstatic to get the season-ending bowl package. However, immediately after they won the bid, I’m guessing that they had an “Oh shit” moment. As in, “Oh shit, we don’t do… college football.” Read more…
